Strongly influenced by the sounds of 1950s and 1960s Doo Wop, Rock & Roll , Surf Rock and Psych-Pop, I began performing live music at age 13. Since then I've lead or been a part of several groups fairly consistently...to varying degrees of success. From 2004 to 2011, I built a reputation of showmanship as the front man for my group The Specific Heats. Our sound was heavily influenced by 1960s pop/rock/surf and 80s through early 2000s Indie Pop. But enough describing, you can get a better idea from looking and listening below.

Cheap Sneakers (2013 TO PRESENT)

Not to be confused with any of the other two or three outfits of the same name in the Northeast alone, I've spent the last few years playing mostly lead guitar and lending occasional vocals in this Budget-Rock combo with my pal Carlos Bermudez. In the tradition of The Trashmen, The Kingsmen, The Dukes of Hamburg, Sam the Sham and that drunken Mariachi band on the J train around 3-4am, our outputs runs the gamut of covers from 50s R&B to 60s garage and surf to 70s glam & punk with a smattering of originals along the way through a funnel of consistent drunken, high-energy, chaotic inconsistency. All that plus jokes are why we may very well be the only TRUE garage band in NYC.

Psychic Yardsale (2011-2013)

After years of getting burnt out coming up with ideas and arrangements for The Specific Heats that were too ambitious to be realized, Psychic Yardsale was a direct attempt to shed my usual nostalgic mid-1960s trappings to create something more straight-forward and immediate.

Little Buckaroo

A team-up with my good friend and talented & knowledgeable performer, Miss Elizabeth Butters based on our mutual love and appreciation for classic country, classic folk, lonesome tunes and early 20th century sounds and motifs in general.

Creeptales (2010)

Still surfy and garage, Creeptales was a darker, moodier (but not without a sense of humor) 2-piece consisting of myself on guitar & vocals and Erik Brauer of Island Twins, The Gutsies and for a short stint, The Specific Heats on drums & backing vocals. Lyrically/thematically-speaking,  the songs were a mix of political protest, social commentary and irreverant pop...not that anyone would be able to tell.
